Introduction - So many of our Houston-area patients come to us with a desire to address concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, stretch marks, and hair loss. To help these patients meet their aesthetic goals, we are pleased to offer microneedling treatment with SkinPen, which stimulates the skin’s natural regenerative process to reveal smoother, more even, and more youthful-looking skin. SkinPen is also ideal for stimulating hair growth after just a few in-office treatments.
Microneedling with SkinPen works by creating controlled small punctures with tiny needles that lead to micro-injuries on the dermis, which stimulates the body’s natural cell regeneration and wound healing process as well as the production of new collagen and elastin. Microneedling with SkinPen does not cause damage at the cellular level, and our aestheticians are able to precisely target areas of concern without damaging the structures of the skin. In a recent study, 90% of patients said they would recommend SkinPen.1
SkinPen is the first microneedling device to be cleared by the FDA to reduce the appearance of neck wrinkles and acne scars, but that's just the start of what SKinPen can do. After just a few in-office treatments that take only about 30 minutes and require little to no downtime, patients see results in the form of:
Fewer fine lines and wrinkles
Reduced appearance of scars, including acne scars
Reduced appearance of sun damage
Reduced large pores
More even skin tone
Improved skin texture
Reduced appearance of stretch marks
Diminished appearance of rosacea and eczema
Improved effectiveness of topical skin care products
Following SkinPen professional microneedling, the skin rejuvenates and remodels itself in three phases:
Phase 1: Inflammation
The micro-injuries caused by SkinPen trigger an immune response from the body. First, these tiny injuries are disinfected. Then dead skin and debris are eliminated and increased blood flow initiates new tissue creation.
Phase 2: Proliferation
As the skin heals, new granulation cells grow to rebuild the skin, initiating the proliferation of blood vessels that promote faster healing.
Phase 3: Remodeling
New blood cells and dermal tissues grow, revitalizing and remodeling the skin and helping the skin look smoother, healthier, and more youthful appearance.
Treatment with SkinPen is a fast in-office procedure that takes only about 30 minutes per session. Before your microneedling session begins, your provideraesthetician will cleanse the treatment area and apply a topical numbing cream to improve your comfort.
Following your SkinPen treatment session, you might experience some swelling and/or redness at the treatment areas. This will naturally resolve within a day or two.
The cost of SkinPen microneedling depends on the area and extent of treatment, as well as the number of treatments required to reach each client’s aesthetic goals. We sell our treatments in packages with our face treatments starting at $300.
Many of our patients see considerable improvement after just three SkinPen treatments, spaced 30 days apart. Results last up to six months.
SkinPen is cleared by the FDA and is considered to be safe. SkinPen side effects are mild, and may include:
Swelling
Redness
Mild bruising
No. Your skin will be numbed with a topical numbing cream before treatment. You may feel some vibrations, but the tiny needles in the SkinPen device are so fine that most of our patients don’t feel any pricks or punctures.
